The NBTC Board is inspired by True-DTAC and emphasizes the need to strictly focus on consumers.

Dr. Saran Panpaisabruk Broadcasting Authority Chairman The Television Business and National Telecommunications Commission or NBTC revealed that after the board meeting on December 20, 2023, the meeting considered the issue of monitoring the impact of the merger between True and DTAC. The meeting agreed that it is still necessary to verify whether the information sent by True and DTAC is accurate or not. However, NBTC was aware of complaints regarding signal quality. Therefore, measures to protect consumers more vigorously are required.

Additionally, the NBTC Board has also approved the issuance of notifications related to identity verification and use of services by mobile phone subscribers. SIM holders with 6-100 numbers should inform the mobile service center within 180 days. Those holding more than 100 numbers must report within 30 days. To implement the notification, the notification must first be presented in a cabinet meeting.

Chairman of the sub-committee to monitor and evaluate the business combination between True and DTAC, Dr. Prawit Leesathapornwongsa, at the NBTC board meeting, DTAC should be reduced by 12% in line with measures to reduce the impact of service charges and True and connectivity. However, the Sub-Committee could not confirm that there has actually been a reduction in the cost of service charges. Observations include that free promotional materials were not used in calculating service charges and that pricing information was redacted. And the price package is not fully disclosed. Another issue is monitoring innovation motivation after a merger. It turned out that there was no concrete plan. There are no details of the process.
