The Football Association of Thailand, under the Royal Patronage of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), organized an activity to search for emerging athletes to enter the national teams database. Also known as “Thai FA Talent ID”
For 2023 the association’s athletes are selected in the national team database. Regional training was conducted before the end of the final tournament activity at the Football Potential Development Center, Bangkok University, Thonburi
Next year, 2024, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) came to cooperate with the Thai Football Association. Collecting data and organizing activities for male athletes in the U-16 age group to prepare the national team to compete in the AFC U-16 Championship and the AFC U-17 Cup until the 2025 U-17 World Cup, which is the main goal that FIFA wants. For female athletes under the age of 15 to prepare to compete in the aforementioned event as well.
According to last year’s plan, the association will continuously collect data on athletes from each region. But this time for male athletes, the choice will be split. It is divided into a total of 10 regions, consisting of the Northern Region, the Western Region, the Eastern Region, the Bangkok Region, the Urban Region, the Central Region, the Upper Northeastern Region, the Lower Northeastern Region, the Upper Southern Region, and the Lower South Region. In the women’s section, it is divided into 7 regions.
The federation will use last year’s database as a basis for selecting athletes and giving opportunities to the general public. Entering the names of athletes into the national team database. Before the selection of rising athletes from different regions next, there will be further introduction to the Thai Youth National Team camp.
The association has greatly recognized the importance of selecting athletes in the national team database. Therefore, opportunities were opened to the common people. They have the right to enter information about talented young athletes into the national team database. Prepared by the association it also provides an opportunity for budding athletes to show their potential.
The selection process for emerging athletes into the national database is as follows.
1. The general public submits information about talented athletes to the association’s database.
2. Coaches of youth national teams and federation teams Check the names of athletes in each region as well as names from the database from last year.
3. The Federation sends the vetted information to the regional coaches to select athletes to enter regional training, 30 people per region.
4. National youth coaches and federation staff will select athletes from that region. Involving 120 athletes in the training of the Thai youth national team.
The selection will not focus on results. But we will focus on all young athletes who play football and show their full potential. So that the national youth coaches can see their full level of play again.
