Edwige Roux-Morizot described the scene that led to the young man’s death at a press conference as a “terrible mistake”. On Sunday evening, the couple gave him an appointment at an isolated spot in the town of about 1,400 people.
The victim, a couple, had previously approached the 19-year-old girl under a false identity through a Snapchat application for a sexual encounter.
Not the right person
The request for the young major was constantly harassed by two people on social media. Her companion, aged 20, then continued exchanges with the prosecutor on the messaging system and set up a night meeting for him.
At around 11:00 pm on Sunday night, the victim went there and the teenager was waiting for him in her car while her friend was hiding in the undergrowth. Edwige Roux-Morisot explained that the couple “agreed on a code depending on the person who comes to the meeting.”
“The young woman, when she saw that none of the men she suspected (of harassing her) were there, did not try to alert her companion. But he did not see the message sent to his phone”, he clarified.
Then there was a heated argument between the two. The victim took charge for a while, and the young woman’s companion took a knife from his pocket and wounded him. The couple then fled while trying to clean the blood stains from the vehicle.
Forethought
Thanks to the exploitation of the victim’s phone, investigations by Mulhouse and Strasbourg investigators led to the arrest of the couple on Monday morning.
The Forensic Institute of Strasbourg counted three stab wounds on the body of the young man: a deep wound in the neck, one in the chest and the last one at the level of the flank near the waist. “We don’t know what’s dangerous,” the lawyer said.
Due to the tense ambush, the trial was adjourned by the Magistrate. The young woman is also charged with failing to render aid to a person in danger.
