How do seeders and pots work?

Qatar, as the host nation, will occupy the A1 position from Pot 1.

As for the other 28 teams already eligible, pots have been assigned based on the FIFA rankings released on Thursday.

In the first pot, Qatar will join the seven highest-ranked teams.

Pot 2 will be allocated to teams seeded 8 to 15, 16 to 23 will be in Pot 3 while Pot 4 will include the qualified teams in 24 to 28 as well as the placeholders for the remaining three places – two winners of the Intercontinental Qualifiers and the remaining winner of the UEFA Qualifiers .
