PGA Championship 2022 LIVE: Leaderboard and latest updates with Rory McIlroy in the mix as Tiger Woods struggles

He’s putting pressure on Zalatoris, but he’s making a foot out of 12 feet. Still, he swings two bullets into the two opening slots.

Despite his relaxed look, Will Zalatoris has had a shot on the opening hole and is now level with Pereira at -8.

He left himself with a tall one and would have another in a second after his drive went astray.

McIlroy finds himself in the bunker of the back green side initially but plays a great shot to get out of trouble and rolls it to three feet. He gave that chance, but he carried on equally.

Webb Simpson made a great pass of 65 to bring himself back into the red after starting the day at +4. The American hit five birds and made a chip eagle ranked fifteenth.

In the Southern Hills test conditions, there are low scores to be had. That’s according to Webb Simpson, at least, who posted the lowest score of the day so far at -4.

He still has a few holes to cut, but he’s on the brink of the top 20 having regained his strength so far.
