The fire that broke out Thursday has been extinguished, according to the Denver Fire Department. The cause remains unclear and no injuries have been reported.

“Flames are now under control at Mile High,” wrote a tweet from the DFD, using the name of the stadium’s predecessor.

Sprinklers tried to stop the fire, but firefighters were needed to complete the extinguishing process. Fire and thick smoke were found at the briefing for our arrival which will be held at 3:00 PM on the east side of the stadium.

The fire appeared to have broken out in a part of the stadium with luxury boxes and rows of seats in that section.

Workers have been evacuated from the building according to Mike Cleese, who covers the team at Denver Channel 9.

Team spokespersons did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.

The stadium was completed in 2001 to replace the old Mile High Stadium in the Broncos, which was half a century old when it was dismantled.
