American serial killer Jeffrey DahmerLionel’s father talked about his son’s murder and his missed opportunities when he could have stopped them.
In clips obtained by TMZ, Dahmer interviews Dr. Phil, which is set to air the last week of November. During the conversation, Lionel reveals two opportunities that could have told the shocking truth about his son’s life but were ultimately missed for various reasons.
When asked by Dr. Phil how he took the news that Jeffrey was a murderer, Lionel said:
“I think at some point between the ages of 12 and 14 when he was coming out of puberty, his motors were *in high gear* and he was touching the insides of these animals, to associate sexual pleasure with that kind of activity on the trails, inside the body.”

During the interview, Lionel recalled an incident involving the wooden box Jeffrey used to store in his room while living in Milwaukee when he had already begun his killing spree. He told Dr. Phil:
“When I visited Milwaukee I saw this box in the safe in his room. I said I’d open it and started going downstairs to get a tool to open the box, and he kept complaining that he couldn’t even have one square foot of his own property to do with what he wanted.”

At the time, Lionel was adamant about opening the box because he thought it consisted of pornography. Reportedly, Jeffrey convinced his father to leave the situation alone for the night because he didn’t want to disturb his grandmother who was also home:
And, indeed, he persuaded me to wait. He said to me, ‘Wait till my Father tomorrow, and I will open it for you then, but do nothing now.’ “
According to TMZ, Lionel He tells Dr. Phil that the wooden box consisted of a severed human head all along. Jeffrey used the time that night to exchange porn magazines to show Lionel what was inside.
Lionel also lamented that he had not insisted enough that Geoffrey would open the wooden chest the very night he was to find his head and might be able to stop his son’s heinous activities.
