to update: Meteorologist Alyssa Carlson Schwartz posted to her Facebook page this afternoon. “Thanks for all the text messages, calls, and well wishes. I’ll be fine!” She gave no further details.
previously: KCAL meteorologist Alyssa Carlson Schwartz fainted Saturday morning during a live TV broadcast.
Schwartz was providing the weather as part of her 7 a.m. updates when she was injured. She began leaning forward, passed out, and fell onto the desk before she could even begin her report.
There was a slight delay before the show was cut into a commercial. Since then there has been no update on Carlson’s status.
Carlson, a former Mrs. America contestant, has a heart condition. In 2014, during a weather report at another station, I vomited on set during a weather report. Subsequent tests discovered a leaky heart valve.
