The Israeli military says Sunday that Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian man who attacked a military post on the occupied West Bank with a Molotov cocktail.

He was shot dead by another Palestinian who threw Molotov cocktails at an army barracks in the Abu Dis area east of Jerusalem. The Palestinian Ministry of Health has confirmed the death of 16-year-old Yemeni Jafal. The military says a second Palestinian escaped from the scene.

On Sunday morning, Israeli security forces killed a Palestinian man who tried to stab police stationed in the old city of Jerusalem, east of the city. Violence and conflict in the West Bank have escalated over the past year, according to the latest figures from the Israeli military and the UN.
