Two men storm the meeting room of the Indian Parliament. With smoke canisters lit to cause chaos on the 22nd anniversary of the attack on Parliament that left 14 dead
Foreign news agencies reported that on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, an incident occurred where at least two suspects stormed the council meeting room. Before they chanted some slogans and lit a can of paint smoke, causing chaos in the meeting room before the couple was arrested by security guards and taken away.
The incident occurred during a meeting of members of the House of Representatives, where one of the representatives stated that the intruder jumped over the barrier from the visitor’s seating level into the hall. As a result, House and Senate meetings were briefly suspended. Before coming back to continue later
After the incident, Mr. Om Birla, Speaker of the National Assembly, revealed this and they are investigating the incident. They have also asked Delhi Police to join the investigation, but it is not clear what was the motive behind the incident.
Meanwhile, a man and a woman were also arrested. After two packs of smoke ignited during a protest in front of the Parliament building.
The aforementioned invasion incident occurred on the twenty-second anniversary of the armed attack on Parliament. This led to the killing of 14 people, including the five gunmen.
