West side story Reminding her audience that “there is a place for us”. Maybe except for the actress Rachel Zieglerwho took to Instagram today to regret that she was not invited to the Oscars on March 27 in Hollywood.
Ziegler, who plays “Maria” in the revival of the classic musical, was not nominated for any award OscarsBut the movie is up to seven people including the best picture.
But when a fan asked today on Instagram what she’s wearing to the party, the truth about her disdain came out.
Ziegler’s response was “I’m not invited, so my sweatpants and flannel are my friend.”
Naturally, angry fans of the actress carried torches and pitchforks when they learned of her exclusion.
“IDK, I’ve tried everything but it doesn’t seem to happen,” she wrote. “I’m going to root ‘West Side Story’ from my couch and be proud of the work we’ve been doing so tirelessly for the past 3 years. I hope a last minute miracle happens and I celebrate our movie in person but hey, that’s how it goes sometimes, I guess. Thanks for all the shock And anger – I’m disappointed too. But that’s okay. So proud of our movie.”
Assuming she doesn’t make it to the red carpet, Ziggler will next appear in the DC superhero Shazam! wrath of the godsIt is scheduled to be shown in theaters next December. She will also be starring in Disney snow White remake.

Update: Ziegler responded to the anger of the fans and urged calm.
