In his New Year’s address, the Ukrainian president praised his country’s resistance to the Russian invasion.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi vowed on Saturday that his country would continue to fight until “victory” against Russia and all territories occupied by Moscow are returned to Kiev’s bosom. “We are fighting and we will continue to fight. Praising Ukraine’s resistance to the Russian invasion that began in February, he said “Ukraine changed the world” last year. “We asked them to surrender. We have chosen to counterattack! We asked for concessions and compromises. We are joining the European Union and NATO,” said Mr. Zelensky continued.
Zelensky praised the country’s “resistance against all threats, bombings, cluster bombs, cruise missiles, darkness and cold” as Russia has been conducting massive strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure for months. “I wish everyone one thing: success. And that’s the main thing. All Ukrainians have the same desire,” he concluded.
