This is when “Starfield” is released in your region for Early Access

Starfield launch is imminent. Technically, it will be released on Thursday in many regions, including here in the US, though the official Early Access release date is September 1st. As such, if you want to play Starfield that night/morning, which I’m sure a lot of people do, you’ll need to know the release time for your region.

The above is mainly part of the worldwide release schedule for My American audience, but you can see the full schedule below, and a larger version here. So, here are the times:

  • Los Angeles – August 31 – 5 p.m
  • Mexico City – August 31 – 6 p.m
  • Chicago – August 31 – 7 p.m
  • New York – August 31 – 8 p.m
  • Sao Paulo – August 31 – 9 p.m
  • LONDON – September 1 – 1 a.m
  • PARIS – September 1 – 2 a.m
  • BERLIN – September 1 – 2 a.m
  • Saudi Arabia – September 1 – 3 a.m
  • India – September 1 – 5:30 AM
  • Eastern China – Sept. 1 – 8 a.m
  • Japan – September 1 – 9 a.m
  • SYDNEY – September 1 – 10 a.m
  • Oakland – September 1 – 12 noon

So, not an EU focused launch here, but the US will have a few hours to play before bed and Australia/Japan/China etc will be able to start their day with.

All of those times are the same for my September 5/6 as well, though I’ll probably post another reminder before that launch as well.

These times come just eight hours after the review ban fell. Normally this is a little weird, but Bethesda is always Very weird about block times, so it’s par for the deal for them. Most of the people excited enough to play the Early Access game have probably already purchased it. I’m still editing my (very long) review and finished my score. I suspect. You can preload Starfield tomorrow, August 30th on Steam, and I think you can actually preload it on Xbox right now.

Bethesda and Microsoft executives have both voiced the game’s length, with Pete Haynes saying he’s put in 160 hours so far, and Phil Spencer saying he’s put in 200, even though they’ve been playing different versions in development for about a year now. Five-day early access for $30-35 is pretty common practice now, at least bundled with some future content, in this case, the future “Shattered Space” expansion.

One way or another, it’s going to be a really interesting week. I’ll be part of the conversation starting Thursday, maybe some time later. I’ll see you later.
