Mike Batayeh, an actor and comedian best known for his role in Breaking Bad, has passed away. He was 52 years old.
Batailer’s manager, Steve Owens, said the actor died of a heart attack in his sleep on June 1 and that his funeral will be held on June 17 at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Plymouth, Michigan.
Bataeh’s agent, Arlene Thornton, paid tribute to Bataeh in a statement to USA TODAY.
“He was one of our favorite customers because he was such an amazing actor and a very funny guy with fans all over the world,” she said.
Pattaya portrayed Principal Dennis Markowski of Gustavo Fring’s (Giancarlo Esposito) Lavanderia Brillante laundromat, a legitimate business front for Walter White’s (Bryan Cranston) laboratory, in the AMC drama series “Breaking Bad.” He appeared in three episodes from 2011 to 2012.
Bataeh’s other TV credits include “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, “Battle Creek”, “CSI: Miami”, “Jessie” and “Everybody Loves Raymond”. He also did a voiceover on “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” He was a native of Detroit, according to his IMDb profile.
Bataeh’s latest acting was in the 2018 TV movie “Prank of America”.
Director Rola Nashef honored her friend Bataeh in a tribute she published on Facebook Monday.
“You’ve been a friend to everyone. And I mean everyone. There isn’t a person I’ve introduced you to or a waitress who took our orders who didn’t make them laugh, think about, inspire, or root for,” Nashef wrote. “I wanted you all to see us win. I still can’t believe this news.”
Nashif continued, “Your sense of humor and talent in theatre, screenwriting, television and film was genius, outrageous and fearless. I pray so much for your sisters, nephews, cousins and our entire community who will forever feel your loss. Rest in peace dear Mike, you are my friend always.”
