Officials spotted the fighter plane before it entered the air defense identification zone and sent an Air Force fighter plane to intercept it according to tactical procedures.

South Korea also expressed its protest to the Chinese government through the direct line between its two armies. Russia did not submit a letter of protest because the two countries do not have a direct line of communication between their militaries.
However, Russian and Chinese warplanes have not yet violated South Korean territory. This is because the air defense identification zone is wider than South Korea’s territorial airspace. They are used to control aircraft for security reasons.
Meanwhile, the Japanese Ministry of Defense revealed that it faced a similar situation. As a result, fighter planes must be sent to intercept these Russian and Chinese aircraft as well.
