Tonight’s Dolphins-Bills game may be among the snowiest games in NFL history.

According to the Buffalo NewsThe latest forecast is for heavy snow Saturday night in the hardest-hit area, which is near Lake Erie south of Buffalo, with Snowfall rates are up to 2 inches per hour possible. Highmark Stadium is located in Orchard Park, south of Buffalo and about five miles from Lake Erie.

Tonight’s game starts at 8:15 PM ET. Snow has already begun and is expected to accumulate throughout the day.

The NFL could still choose to postpone the game, though delaying it would affect the Bills’ and Dolphins’ preparations for next week’s games, giving them a competitive disadvantage at a time when both teams are in the midst of Picture of the AFC play-off match. The NFL would certainly see delaying the game as a last resort. And there’s certainly no time to move the game elsewhere, as the NFL did in November when a Buffalo blizzard moved the Bills’ home game to Detroit.

So the most likely outcome is that the NFL will play the game as scheduled, urge fans to be extra careful on the roads to and from the stadium, and give millions of fans across the country the pleasure of watching a snow game from the comfort of home.
