Although they can’t make it to Hall H, Stewart (Jean-Luc Picard) and McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher) will be joined in the new season by “TNG” actors Jonathan Frakes (William River) and LeVar Burton (Geordi La Forge) ), Michael Dorn (Worf), Marina Sirtis (Diana Troy), Brent Spiner (who played Android Data on “TNG” and plays Data’s brother Alan Inigo Soong in “Picard”), and fellow “Picard” actor Jerry Ryan (Seven of Nine), Michelle Heard (Ravi Mosker).
According to the series’ executive producer Alex Kurtzman, Picard will have to set out to find and reunite his old crew, scattered throughout the galaxy. “I think it took us two seasons to earn a comeback [“TNG”] Kurtzman said. Kurtzman has mostly remained silent about who will be the main villain of the new season, other than saying “I won’t say much except to say so she amazing.”
Stewart also quipped that he would actually set foot on Enterprise-D at least once in Season 3. “I forgot we had a rug there,” he joked.
The team behind the show has also released a new trailer for Season 3 of “PIcard,” which can be seen below.
The session was moderated by Leah Thompson, who directed two episodes of the second season of “Pickard” and also appeared in a small on-screen role in the season five episode.
The new season 3 teaser features a look at the “TNG” characters not yet appearing on “Picard” – namely Burton’s Geordi, Dorn’s Worf and McFadden’s Crusher – as well as some interesting hints about what they’re up to. Geordi appears to be wearing an Admiral Starfleet uniform, while Worf appears to be wearing a captain’s rank insignia. Dr. Crusher, however, is out of uniform.
Season 3 of “Picard” marks the first time that TNG’s central band has performed together since 2002’s “Star Trek: Nemesis.” Spiner has played several characters on “Picard” including Data, whose consciousness is permanently decimated at the end of the season. the first ; Frakes and Sirtis played Riker and Troi in one episode of the first season; Whoopi Goldberg reprized her role as Genan in the season two premiere and finale; Will Wheaton played Wesley Crusher at the end of the second season; John de Lancy wrapped up his role on Q over the course of the second season.
The third and final season of “Picard,” which the cast wrapped filming this spring, will premiere in 2023.
