Amy Heming Willis, wife of actor Bruce Willis, made an emotional plea to the paparazzi to stop yelling or distracting her husband while he was out.
“Obviously there is still a lot of education to be asked,” she wrote on Instagram Saturday. “So this one goes to paparazzi and video people trying to get out that exclusive detail of my husband: Just keep your space. I know that’s your job, but maybe just keep your space.”
She added, “As for the video, please don’t yell at my husband asking how he’s doing or whatever — woohoo-ing and yippee ki yays…just don’t do it. Yeah? Give him his space. Let our family or whoever he’s with that day be able to.” Getting him from point A to point B safely.”
This month marks a year since the Willis family—including Emma, ex-wife Demi Moore, and five daughters—announced that Pulp Fiction The actor was diagnosed with aphasia, a neurological disease that impairs communication and perception. This has now progressed to dementia.
His wife’s video came after the media disrupted an outing in Santa Monica to capture a rare public appearance by Willis.
“To other carers or a dementia care professional navigating this world… Any tips or advice on how to get your loved one out into the world safely? Please share below,” Emma wrote.
Bruce Willis turns 68 on March 19th. His wife is 45 years old.
