“King of the Hill” resurrected at Hollow’s behest; Returns the original cast – Deadline

Hulu Lays the welcome mat for the Hill family: The broadcaster is booming king of the hill From 20th Television Animation, with co-authors Mike Judge And Greg Daniels About to return, as are the former beloved cast.

Judge will reprise his role as Hank Hill, while Kathy Najimy will return as his wife Peggy, Stephen Root as Belle, Pamela Adlon as Bobby Hill, Johnny Hardwicke as Dale and Lauren Tom as Minh. The reboot has been in the works since 2017’s San Francisco Sketchfest, where Judge and Daniels reconnected with the cast and celebrated the 20th anniversary of the old Fox animated show.

Saladin Patterson (Wonder YearsAnd post OG.) will join the production as executive producer and showrunner. 3 Arts Michael Rothenberg and Howard Klein, and Dustin Davis of Bandera Entertainment will serve as executive producers.

Craig Erwich, president of ABC Entertainment and the Hulu and Disney film brand for broadcast television, said in a statement. “This show has all the perfect ingredients to meet this moment in animation on Hulu, and we are so grateful to have these conversations alongside such a talented group.”

Set in Arlen, Texas, the series follows the life of Hank Hill, an avid salesman of propane and propane accessories. his wife, Peggy, a local Boggle Champion and substitute teacher; and their 13-year-old son, Bobby, who defies any expectation his father had for his son. Hank’s friends—conspiracy theorist Dale, military barber Bill and the sweet-natured but inarticulate Boomhauer (The Judge)—along with friends Peggy Minh and meteorologist Nancy (Ashley Gardner), and friend Bobby Connie (Tom), help the Hills navigate a changing world.

“Yeah, man I tell you man, that guy, dang ol Greg, talking about OG and then that Mike Judge…the inspiration, oh man…the original show, the classic ‘dang ol’…make my kids, oh man, They walk around talking about ‘That’s my bag! I don’t know you!’ Feel so blessed man, I tell you ‘Feel so Good’ is a great song, I don’t care what the no-dang-body says…” Patterson added in a fitting statement.

The Emmy Award-winning series ran for 13 seasons on Fox from 1997-2010 and is a top animated performer on Hulu.

This isn’t the first Fox animated show the operator has dusted off with new audiences; there A Futurama revival in the workst hulu too.
