Jorge Santos voted to expel the House of Representatives. Charged with unethical behavior

George Santos, a Republican congressman, was voted out of the US House of Representatives after he was found to have committed numerous ethical violations.

On Friday, December 1, 2023, members of the US House of Representatives met and the resolution was passed by a vote of 311 to 114 against the expulsion of New York Republican Representative Jorge Santos from the House of Representatives after he was accused of ethics violations. This makes him the sixth MP in history to be voted out of Parliament.

Mr. Santos had survived a previous expulsion vote. But the trend against it is increasing. After the House Ethics Committee published a 56-page report on his ethics violations, including using campaign funds for your own benefit. They repeatedly lied to voters and donors.

After the report was published, Mr. Santos also announced that he would not run in the upcoming elections. But he refused to resign

The clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives will temporarily oversee the office of Mr. Santos and Democratic New York Gov. Kathy Hochul. The date of the by-elections will be determined. To find someone to replace Mr. Santos soon.

By the way, expulsion from the House of Representatives is considered the most severe punishment for members of the House of Representatives.
