Indonesia eases 'golden visa' requirements to please foreigners, attract investment to Nusantara, new capital.

Indonesia has eased golden visa requirements for investors in the country's new capital, Nusantara, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Foreign investors can now apply for a five-year residence permit in Indonesia if they invest at least $5 million, down from the previous minimum of $25 million.

For investors who will stay in Indonesia for 10 years, the investment requirements have been relaxed to $10 million (about 354 million baht) from the previous $50 million (about 1.77 billion baht).

62 golden visas have been issued as of January 2024, and the Indonesian government hopes the influx of foreign capital will boost the economy of the new capital and its surrounding areas.
