Hungarian Viktor Orban has an idea to end the war between Russia and Ukraine

Hungarian populist Prime Minister Viktor Orban called for a “new strategy” to end the war in Ukraine on Saturday – saying only direct negotiations between Russia and the United States could bring peace.

“Since Russia wants security guarantees, this war can only be ended with peace talks between Russia and America.” Urban said during an extensive speech.

On the 150th day of fighting following Vladimir Putin’s February 24 invasion, Orban said a Ukrainian military victory was impossible, “simply because the Russian military had asymmetric dominance.”

He argued that Western sanctions had failed to contain Russian aggression – and, worse, had led to a spike in energy prices that had brought Europe to the brink of recession and caused many of the continent’s governments, Including Italy And the United kingdomto collapse “like dominoes”.

“We are sitting in a car with a punctured tire,” Urban said. “It is quite clear that the war cannot be won this way.”
