Yang will play Willis Wu, a background actor in a procedural cop show called black and white. Willis descends into the background, wading through the motions of his screen job, waiting tables, and dreaming of an entire world outside of Chinatown. When he unwittingly becomes a witness to a crime, Willis begins to uncover a criminal network in Chinatown, and in the process discovers the feeling of being in the spotlight.
Rideback, and Participant and Dive are executive producers. Dan Lane, Lindsey Liberator, and Elsie Choi will be EP at Rideback; Jeff Skoll and Miura Kate will EP for the participant, and Garrett Bash will EP for the dive. Waititi is also an EP.
