After an 11-year-old child was allegedly raped and molested by schoolmates, the public prosecutor’s office in Vienna opened several investigations, including rape and molestation. According to the lawyer of the family of the alleged victim, Mee Jean-Christophe Basson-Larby, between December 2021 and the summer of 2022, the rape of a private schoolgirl in Contrieu in the Rhône took place. The boy, who was 10 years old at the time, was allegedly raped several times by one of his classmates outside the school. The alleged victim remained silent until August 15, when she decided to confide in her parents and then the sex.

But according to the family’s lawyer, the boy was a victim of retaliation. “Since the beginning of the school year, he has been subjected to school harassment by several peers, and to date, the school has not responded properly” and taken no sanction, the lawyer said, noting that the student was not in class. From December 8. On that day, Me Basson-Larbi reports that the boy was assaulted by the main perpetrator’s father inside the establishment. Today, the alleged victim, under treatment and psychological observation, is “very, very bad. “She gained 8 kg, had anxiety attacks and had a hard time coping with inquiries and expert opinions,” explains the lawyer.

Contacted by AFP, the prosecution confirmed it had opened three investigations: one into rape, another into harassment and the third into “possible threats or acts of intimidation by the family of one of the perpetrators against the victim’s family”. Regarding this last point, it said on Wednesday evening that “no complaint has been registered so far” and therefore “is not in a position to specify the content of these potential threats”.
