eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series Preview: Coca-Cola 150 at Charlotte – iRacing.com

An essential event in the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series, the Coca-Cola 150 Tuesday night sees the series take on Round 9 of the 2023 season at Charlotte Motor Speedway. As always, coverage of the race begins at 9 p.m. ET on the eNASCAR.com/live and via iRacing social media channels, while Countdown to Green begins at 8:30 PM ET to preview the action.

The last race: XSET’s Casey Kirwan scored his second win of the 2023 campaign at Darlington Raceway two weeks ago, leading 32 laps and using fresher tires to take the lead from Ray Beaver eSports owner Jim Beaver on the final restart. Kirwan had the easiest time passing Ray, and while three other drivers managed to do the same in the end, Kirwan had just enough cushion to hold off Nick Oettinger of William Byron Esports Team approaching the finish.

While Darlington’s calling card in both the real and the virtual world is the display of its famous bounce paint schemes, it was also one of the most competitive races of the season. Nine different drivers led part of the race, teammate Matt Bosa led more than all at 36, and all 39 starters finished all but two of the 120 laps. The top four leaders are one through four in the current series standings, with JR Motorsports’ Michael Conte using his third to build a 14-point lead over Ottinger at Charlotte.

last year: Bossa entered his 2022 eNASCAR qualifying round when he outpaced the field at last year’s Charlotte race, coming to the finish line without a lap. He took the lead from Ray, who also bet on trying to make it to the finish, in the closing laps, then managed to outlast Zak Novak to get to the finish line.

Track facts: Since 1960, Charlotte Motor Speedway has hosted the longest race on the NASCAR Cup Series calendar, the Coca-Cola 600 (originally known as the World 600). The 1.5-mile tri-oval was designed by Speedway Motorsports founder Bruton Smith and legendary driver Curtis Turner.

Next: After Charlotte, the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series will head to Gateway’s Global Technology Raceway on Tuesday, June 13 at 9 p.m. ET. Graham Bowlin gave Charlotte Phoenix its first win in eNASCAR – the second win of his career, and his first step toward an appearance in Championship 4 last year.
