Restrictions decision in New Delhi
The Indian capital, New Delhi, has announced the end of restrictions linked to the corona virus, after recording a drop in cases of contamination with Omigron variant.
Local authorities in the Delhi region registered 460 cases and two deaths on Friday, especially after deciding to lift the night curfew and allow restaurants to operate at full capacity. Places of worship were also allowed to reopen. Also from April 1, schools will no longer conduct lessons by video conference.
Wearing a mask is mandatory, but the penalty for non-compliance increases from 1000 rupees to 500 rupees (about 7 francs).
Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the chairman of the Regional Disaster Management Authority, announced on Twitter that “all restrictions (because) the situation is improving” and “people are facing hardship due to job loss”.
