Crash Team Rumble gets a June release date, and closed beta is available with pre-orders

After the game was leaked earlier today, Activision has announced when you’ll be able to play as Crash and his team in Crash Team Rumble — and how you can play ahead of launch.

Toys For Bob’s upcoming MOBA will launch on June 20th across PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S (with cross-play support).

If you’re keen, you can pre-order the game from today (March 21st). Those who do so will also be invited to participate in the Crash Team Rumble closed beta, which will run from April 20th to April 24th.

Crash Team Rumble revealed the trailer.

The Standard Edition of Crash Team Rumble will cost you $29.99 (no info on UK pricing yet), and will include seasonal events and limited time modes, along with unlocking a premium battle pass for Season 1.

The Deluxe Edition, meanwhile, will cost $39.99 and include all of the above plus unlock a premium season 2 battle pass, a digital “Proto Pack” (with unique skins and banner) and instant unlock 25 tier premium season 1 battle passes.

Participants in the Crash Team Rumble closed beta will have five heroes to play with – Crash, Coco, Dingodil, Dr. Neo Cortex, and Tuna. As previously announced by Activision, Crash’s friends (and enemies) will each have their own “distinctive powers, personality, and playstyle” for you to discover, with three different hero roles to try out. These are Scorer, Blocker and Booster.

The recorder’s primary role is to collect and record a Wumpa for their team’s Wumpa Bank. Blocker, on the other hand, wants to defend Banks, so he’ll need to be “ready to blitz with enemies to hit Wumpa and stop them from scoring.” Finally, the Booster will be there to pick up the Gems, with their primary goal being to increase their team’s Wumpa Score, and to “activate Relic Stations to give their team the advantage”.

In your quest to secure the most Wumpa Fruit for your team, there will also be three maps to conquer and, dare I say crash, your way through this closed beta, along with new powers to try out.

“We’re super excited for fans to get an early hands-on with Crash Team Rumble during the April closed beta,” said Paul Yan, Associate Studio Head at Toys For Bob. “We really value community feedback and will use that input to fine-tune the game for an amazing player experience on launch day. See you in Closed Beta!”

So, are you staying for Coco? Do you fawn a tuna? Or are you hoping to spend some time with Dingodile?
