If you haven’t tried Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, Capcom’s brilliant 2011 paranormal puzzle adventure, it’s time to start your journey into adoration: the publisher has released a free demo of the Ghost Trick remaster ahead of its arrival on June 30 on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and Steam. .
Ghost Trick, if you’re not familiar, comes from Ace Attorney designer Shu Takumi and follows the adventures of Sissel, a sharply dressed amnesiac who is surprised to wake up unmistakably dead at the start of the game.
On the plus side, Sissel quickly learns that his newfound spirit form gives him the ability to possess inanimate objects, enabling him to influence events and, in terms of gameplay, progress to the next part of the wonderfully told Ghost Trick story.
Capcom’s Ghost Trick remaster expands on the original with updated HD graphics, increased frame rates, and an improved user interface. There’s also a new sliding block-style challenge mode that unlocks new artwork, as well as ordering new versions of the game’s 27 tracks – though the original compositions will also be available to ear purists.
With the full release of Ghost Trick only a few weeks away, Capcom is giving players the chance to play though its early stages – and check out the various improvements to replay – in a new demo available now on Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and Steam. Your saved data will carry over to the full game if you decide to make a purchase come June 30th.
