A teenager has been jailed after stabbing three members of his family

A minor was lodged in jail in Besancon after stabbing his mother, sister and brother so severely that they had to be hospitalised, we learned from a police source on Saturday.
In the family home
The facts happened overnight from Thursday to Friday in the Besançon home of this mother and her three children, the same source confirms the information of the regional newspaper L’Est Républicain.
The boy, whose age was not given, first attacked his brother with a knife for no apparent reason or prior dispute. The mother and sister then tried to intervene before being seriously injured by the stabbing weapon, a police source said.
Psychiatric history
Arrested and taken into police custody, the youth with a known psychiatric history was examined by a doctor and placed in the psychiatric unit of a hospital in the region, we added. All three victims were hospitalized, but a police source could not say what their condition was on Saturday.
Minor will be heard later. The investigation has been handed over to the security department of the Besangaon police station. Besancon’s prosecutor’s office declined to be contacted when asked by AFP.
