Here’s a reminder that the media is not under review, which will be uploaded in a couple of days. They were able to buy the processor on the retail market, but did not specify how much it cost in Peru (where it was purchased). Officially, it launches at $449, which is about $120 to $140 less than the Core i9-12900K MSRP for 1K units.
Position 5800X3D against the Alder Lake system using the same type of memory: DDR4-3200 CL14. Obviously, this isn’t an ideal spec for a high-end system, regardless of whether it’s powered by Zen3 or Alder Lake architecture, but at least it’s consistent across testing. Furthermore, gaming tests are conducted with GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Founders Edition, so no more comparing different models of GPUs.
XanxoGaming does a CPU gaming test, so a resolution like 1080p or even 720p is used. End users are not likely to use such resolution, but it is the best way to show CPU gaming performance.

In general, according to 1080p tests, both processors seem to be equivalent. The site notes that in three games: FFXV, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and The Witcher 3, performance stands out, reaching 29% in FFXV.
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D is the company’s latest effort to secure some user base before switching to the next generation AM5 platform. AMD doesn’t seem to be planning SKUs with 3D cache and more than 8 cores, which is unfortunate, but for gamers, especially those who still have 300/400 series motherboards, it might be a good idea to make another switch, of course, A compatible BIOS must be available.
Although we got permission to share all the results, we only published some tests in 1080p. If you are wondering how the 5800X3D will perform in more games and at 720p resolution, be sure to check out the link below.
