Director of Government Pharmaceuticals Dr. Mingkwan Suphanphong expressed from the current influenza pandemic situation. The government pharmaceutical company has accelerated the oseltamivir drug until the number of patients increases as a result of widespread expansion. But for hospitals that have ordered all the drugs since mid-September, production has accelerated as demand for the drug has increased 4-5 times. Reserve medicines to be prepared in all 3 doses for children and adults. 30 mg for small children, 45 mg for older children, and 75 mg for adults. Currently, there are approximately 2,800 kilograms of raw materials that can be manufactured into approximately 26 million oseltamivir tablets. A small dose is 30 mg. It will be presented by WHO on 4th October. The 45 mg dose will be introduced after October 9 and the 75 mg dose for adults will be phased in after October 2023.

Further, the directorate of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation continued: The organization has a stock of 1.6 million favipravir tablets and raw materials to manufacture 880,000 tablets. The subcommittee has prepared a letter to the FDA. National List of Essential Medicines to consider requesting that favipravir be added to the National List of Essential Medicines for use in influenza virus infections.

“Let people be reassured that the system can produce therapeutically effective drugs and that raw materials are adequately and fully supported. If there is an urgent need, additional production can be expedited soon,” said the Director of Government Pharmaceuticals. Thai News Agency said
