A fitness trainer tries to lift 210 kilos and dies after the weight falls on his neck

The incident occurred while the trainer was attempting to squat with a barbell on his shoulders in the gym.

Justin Vicki, a 33-year-old Indonesian fitness influencer, died after a barbell he was trying to lift broke his neck. Channel News Asia reported that he was training in a gym in Bali, Indonesia when the accident occurred on July 15.

In a viral video on social media, Justyn Vicky can be seen at the Paradise Bali gym trying push-ups with a barbell on his shoulders. Channel News Asia reported that he appeared unable to stand upright after entering a squatting position.

As he tried to hold the weight, he fell back into a seated position as the barbell landed on the back of his neck. Justin Vicki’s spotter appears to lose his balance and can be seen backing away with him during the incident. The spotter is the person who provides help and support while lifting weights.

Citing reports, Channel News Asia reported that Justin Vicki was trying to lift 210 kilograms of weight.

Due to the accident, he suffered a “fractured neck and severe pressure on the vital nerves connected to his heart and lungs,” Channel News Asia, quoting a UK-based newspaper, reported.

Justin Vicki was taken to the hospital for treatment. Channel News Asia reported that he died shortly after undergoing an emergency operation.

Since his death, tributes have poured in for Justin Vicki. Channel News Asia reported that Paradise Bali, the gym where he worked out, described Vicky as “a beacon of inspiration, motivation and unwavering support”.

The Paradise Bali said in an Instagram post, “Justyn was more than just a fitness guru; he was a beacon of inspiration, motivation, and unwavering support.”
