CINCINNATI – There’s an emerging competition under way in Cincinnati. Less than a year after the thrilling AFC Championship game, the Bengals and Chiefs meet again in a match that must live up to the excitement of their last two matches. The Bengals beat the Chiefs in a shootout in Week 15 last season before upsetting them in overtime for the right to go to the Super Bowl.
Coupled with two talented teams, this game features an epic quarterback matchup between Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow. Mahomes has continued to thrive this season despite the departure of Tyreek Hill to Miami. Burrow also continued to play at a high level despite Ja’Marr Chase missing the last four matches with a hip injury. Sensei will return the Chase, but it will be again without holding back Joe Mixon, who was inactive in last Sunday’s win in Nashville.
Chiefs safety Justin Reed added further intrigue to the game when he called out a Bengals player while misrepresenting tight end Hayden Hurst and mentioning Ty Higgins. Reed’s comments were not well received by the Bengals, who will no doubt make a statement by beating the Chiefs for the third time in a calendar year.
