Canoe Museum Invites Citizens to get Crafty, Cozy, Connect

Museum offers variety of activities for winter

From making holiday ornaments to practising yoga by the water, there are a number of opportunities to create and connect at The Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough this winter.

The Monaghan Road museum invites adults and children to get crafty, cozy and connect by taking advantage of the various classes and/or activities underway in the coming months.

The museum is encouraging visitors to be hands-on, whether it’s as part of a drop-in craft, a workshop, or through a visit to one of the museum’s interactive galleries.

“While our paddling days may be few and far between at this point, we’re embracing the season and getting ready for winter with opportunities to connect and to explore inside as the temperatures drop,” says Karen Taylor, director of programs.

At the museum on Wednesdays by the waterfall in the galleries, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. is Float & Flow Yoga. Beginners are welcome and the activity is open to all skill levels.

Meanwhile, on Thursdays at 7 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30 p.m., visitors can stop by for a drop-in tour of the museum, which is included with the price of admission.
