Terri Clark (Country) | August 15th | 8pm
Montreal-born, Medicine Hat-raised Terri Clark had the pedigree to become a famous country performer, following in the footsteps of her mother who was a Canadian folk singer and grandparents, Ray and Betty Gauthier, both noted Canadian country musicians who opened for artists such as George Jones and Johnny Cash. After graduating high school, she moved to Nashville and got her start performing for tips at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, the legendary honky-tonk bar across the alley from Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium. At that time, country music executives were not seeking out the type of traditional country sound that Clark was producing. However record producer and singer Keith Stegall saw the talent and urged her not give up. In 1994, Stegall became an executive at PolyGram/Mercury Records in Nashville and signed Clark to a record deal.

Now a 3-time JUNO Award winner and 8-time CCMA Entertainer of the Year, Clark has also been named CCMA Female Vocalist of the Year five times. She holds the honour of being the only Canadian female artist to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry and has sold over four million albums. She boasts 13 Top Ten singles, including six number one hits in Canada and the USA, including; “Better Things To Do,” “Poor Poor Pitiful Me,” “Girls Lie Too,” “Northern Girl,” and “I Just Wanna Be Mad.”

The veteran artist has complied an impressive catalogue, compiling 10 studio albums over a 20-year span. Known as dynamic, no-holds-barred performer, she is one of the premiere guitar players of the genre. In October of 2017 she joined forces with Pam Tillis and Suzy Bogguss for the Chicks With Hits Tour – a guitar-pull style acoustic tour featuring chart-topping hits from three renowned women of country music. The Chicks With Hits Tour continues in 2018 and Clark will also hitting the road with her band.

The country music stalwart honed her skills on the other side of the radio as part of NASH Radio on America’s Morning Show which led to her taking over as host of Country Gold with Terri Clark in April 2016. Country Gold airs on more than 100 stations across the US and Canada, features guest artists, and the best of country music from the 80s and 90s. In 2017, Clark was nominated for a CMA Award for National Broadcast Personality of the Year.
