Join us for another ALL CITIZENS MEETING
Pioneer a new way to do politics

Well, if it is a citizen-led democracy we’re after we as citizens ought to get out in front of the pack this election, set the pace, and well… lead.
Imagine citizens getting together to decide what an election ought to be about. What if, during this election period, we worked together to shape the mandate for our incoming elected officials? Wouldn’t it be great if our candidates knew what they could count on us for, and vice versa? Wouldn’t it be great if the passion, talent, and expertise of citizens were made better use of? What if our new political representatives felt themselves to be citizens first and politicians second? What if they truly carried our banner into their official roles and we forged functioning partnerships to cultivate a resilient and thriving city? Funky idea, huh?

This election could shift the future of Peterborough. Let’s lead together.

YOU MUST REGISTER for this FREE event.

During our time together we will:

• Create Connections with Active Citizens
• Meet Strangers
• Share Perspectives
• Explore Issues & Possibilities
• Shape Upcoming Gatherings
• Make Media To Amplify Your Voice

If you decide to come out and play it is important to us that you:

• Arrive 10 minutes early to avoid disrupting our work together
• Be present and attentive to the people in the room
• Ideally, stay for the whole event
• Come prepared to listen to others without prejudice
The fine print…
A note to candidates. We anticipate that you will glean a great deal of personal connection and support from citizens through this process. We also anticipate that it would be less so if you were to drop in and out – could actually be damaging. We would love for you to join us and ask that you also participate fully and as citizens first. If you can’t make it this time, don’t worry. There will be other opportunities to join us.
A note to the media. If members of the media are present, you will be asked to identify yourself openly, participate fully and as citizens rather than as bystanders, and to hold what is heard in small groups as off the record. There will be plenty of time for interviews afterwards.
Pitch Alert ….
It costs money to lead these events and to publish stories about what matters to you in Electric City Magazine. As we go about creating an increasingly influential, active, and citizen-led media organization it is a right and proper thing to create and sustain honouring livelihoods for those who work within it. Their names appear throughout the magazine …. just in case you are wondering who they are.

Now, during, and after the event we will be actively encouraging you to become a monthly ECM Patron. No need to wait until then. Visit patreon.com/electriccity now and become a patron of the Civic Arts.
