The first thing you hear on this album is an audience member screaming “You suck!!” It’s an auspicious start—no, really, it’s a perfect introduction to the gleefully unbridled id of a good punk show, and to to the warm-hearted skeeziness of the now dearly departed Pig’s Ear, where the album was recorded, and where Antixx played their first show.

Antixx - Live @ The PigWith song like “Prunk as Fuck” and “This Wasted Life,” Antixx are a band that are sloppy and sophomoric in subject matter (the lyric “I need a place to masturbate! Your butt!” in particular stands out), but that are focused and tight in execution, even amongst the frenetic shredding and abrupt changes.

Also worth noting: as recorded and mixed by Dan Price of Rapid Tension, this album sounds great for a live album—with a full guitar, meaty rhythm section, and only the occasional mic crackle when things get really ridiculous. Gotta keep it a little rough.
